The Joys of Soignes Forest

This is probably the place where I spend most of my free time! The Soigne Forest is spread over some 4 383 hectares, making it one of the biggest peri-urban forest in Europe.  It's home to an estimated number of 40 species of mammals, 132 species of birds and countless numbers of insects.

Each an every walk holds its share of surprise : a roe deer appearing discretely from the bushes,  a common buzzard's call as its flies overhead, a nuthatch and a blue tit surveilling and protecting their territory, a coot or a heron simply looking for food !

Beauty is in every little behavior animals can display, we just have to look for it.
